If the actuators have any sort of internal or wiring issue it may cause them to rapidly lock and unlock unexpectedly or cause them to function intermittently. Power door locks do not function. I imagine the repair is similar for other vehicles. Not sure why chevy decided not to put interior release. The door lock motor works in tandem with gears and a gear set which is attached to an actuator rod. That did not work either.

I read where you can take off the speaker cover in the door and reach thru and unlock release from there. Another symptom of a potential problem with the power door lock actuators are door locks that behave erratically. Whether the door is locked or not the door should open from the inside when operating the inside door handle. If you hear a motor whirring then in all likelihood the actuator is the problem.

That rod is what moves the door lock up and down. This can be an inconvenience to the driver when trying to lock or unlock the vehicle.
